Help with Networking

Wireless networking? I am trying to set up my sisters laptop for wireless networking. I have run the disc on main pc that came with the router and all done ok lights flashing on router etc, trying to access internet on laptop and unable to do so. plugged in USB flash thing and am trying to do a wireless network set up wizard. ok so far. it is telling me to plug the flash drive into wireless access point....where is this?

What is the best router for wireless networking? I want a home network which I want one computer to actually connect to the router and modem, and another computer upstairs to have wireless internet from the router via PCI wireless networking card (with antenna). I was thinking Linksys WRT54G. Any better ideas? Also, is it worth paying $10-20 more for the WRT54GL or the WRT54GS or do these routers perform just as well as the standard 54G.

How do I set up wireless networking on my XP computer? We are shortly getting broadband and I want to find out if my computer has wireless capabilities before I buy a usb wireless adaptor. I will be using the computer upstairs, away from the main connection. Networking a Vista Computer with a Windos XP via wireless? I have a wireless network at home with a wireless linksys router that is connected to my main pc using Windows XP, I have a second desktop with a wireless USB device using XP also. Both of these computers are connected to a home network that I have set up and have no problems with file and internet sharing. I recently bought a new laptop that is wireless ready and it came with Windows Vista home edition. I connected to my home network, entered int he security code and the laptop connects fine to my network automatically and goes online fine. The problem I am having is, I cant seem to perform any file sharing with this laptop. When I go into the network section it is only showing the laptop and neither of the 2 desktops using XP which are named differently on the network. This is my first time using Vista so I am wondering if I am missing something. The main desktop has the my docs section set for sharing also.

The router.adsl modem is a belkin 54g and all i can add is that on the stats page of the modem is tell me the amount of data, and errors associated with the wireless part. There are no other errors to do with the hard wired networked pc`s. just the wireless connection to a laptop. yes the router is in range....84% signal and constant. no to mac filtering. yes to encryption (wpask) all links use the same code or wouldnt be able to get a link. the wireless link does work and seems pretty stable but my question was as to why i was getting so many errors only on the wireless link. you might say "why worry if it`s working pretty good" but thats not the point when really there shouldn`t be any errors at all. sorry ppl, i cant tell you what the errors are, my router doesn`t tell me exactly what they are just the amount. If i knew what they were or what was causing them then i wouldnt be asking. Thanks for trying anyway..
